No ONE Has a “Marketing Problem”…
They Have a Relationship Problem with themselves, their team, or their customers.
This is a quote that I was told by a very wise shaman in Costa Rica. I took a trip down there and experienced Ayahuasca, plant medicine. Some things came up for me during my spirit journey and I shared that with the shaman, and that was his response. It took some time, about 6 month for that to sink in. And once it finally did, I started realizing the parallels between business and life. Business, personal life, and all the things in between. You see, everything happens for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
We have goals. And they are a must, no matter how large the goal, But there are certain things in business that need to be non-negotiables. As entrepreneurs, we lead every day and come across challenges. That’s a given. Regardless of that, you have to pursue aggressively and in a resilient manner these 2 things.
Simplicity & Clarity
At the end of the day, we should be in a relentless pursuit of those two things every single day in order to build or scale our companies or our lives.
There are ways in which we have to be as a business owner, as an entrepreneur, in order to get off the ground and even get an idea into the world. It’s not easy work and I don’t actually recommend anybody go launch physical products or sometimes digital products or internet marketing, unless they really understand that we’re giving up working 40 hours a week for somebody else to work 24/7 for ourselves.
I believe in helping customers and solving problems. I bleed marketing. It’s in my DNA and there are times that it’s very challenging. And there are times that we have to do things that might not be aligned with what we want to be doing, but they are required. They are required for a reason to get us to the next level.
And there’s parts where things get muddy. And sometimes muddiness is required as part of the journey. We have to be everywhere in this one moment, but that’s not everywhere forever.
Even when things get muddy, it’s at that moment that if we work on the 2 key things needed to scale a business, simplicity and clarity, that these 2 will work as your accountability tool to keep you in check.
So check in with yourself and ask yourself, that is the simplest way to achieve the outcome you desire, to express the message to your customers or communicate in your home with your wife. Take that and improve on it as your feedback loop, to have that provide you clarity in your path to continue growing, scaling and moving forward.
